About Patagonia:
Patagonia is a vast and vaguely defined geographic region encompassing the southern tip of South America, including both Chile and Argentina. It is highlighted by some of most spectacular mountain scenery on the planet, exotic wildlife and is a place where the "Old West" is still very much alive. Patagonia is very sparsely inhabited and is among the safest places in the World to travel. The Argentine side of Patagonia is defined primarily by the vast open Pampas, an arid windswept plain extending from the Atlantic coast to the Andes Range which marks the border with Chile. The Chilean side contrasts dramatically being defined primarily by its lush coastal rainforest and the extensive Chonos archipelago along the Pacific coast. The three "Crown Jewels" of Patagonia are: in the south Torres del Paine National Park in Chile and Los Glaciares National Park in Argentina which are renowned for their unsurpassed mountain landscapes, and to the north The Peninsula Valdez on the Atlantic coast known for its whales and prolific marine wildlife. For photography these areas are absolutely wonderful and should most certainly not be missed however, there are many far less discovered parts of Patagonia that are equally spectacular, especially in Chile's Aysen region (also locally known as: Trapananda) and remote areas in Argentina's Santa Cruz province. It is our mission to bring photo tour participants to experience and photograph these amazing "off-the-beaten-path" locations and to provide them with not only the opportunity to capture some truly unique images of Patagonia, its landscapes, wildlife and people but, to also meet and get to know some of the region’s colorful and friendly local residents.
